Area on the periphery of Tsuyama Castle, Tsuyama City
This all-around museum of natural history opened its doors in 1963. With a collection centering around about 800 types of novel and rare animals, it also displays fossils from the Tsuyama area, specimens of ore from mines throughout Japan, and species of shells, butterflies, and insects. There is also an exhibit of actual human organs. It is a unique museum reproducing in panoramic style the mysteries of the natural world.
